Vesta Annie Thornton

1927-2021

Vesta Annie Thornton
Vesta Annie Thornton of Burtts Corner, NB and formerly of Woodstock, NB passed away peacefully on July 3, 2021 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital with family by her side. Vesta was born at Pinder, NB in 1927, a daughter of the late George and Celia (Harris) Christie and married Gerald Thornton on September 25, 1946.

It was with amazing grace and overwhelming joy that Vesta was ushered into Glory on July 3rd, 2021! It was also the most peaceful moment ever imagined! Her legacy and inspirational love will live on through her family for that is what she left us with! She was a lover of all children, no child ever went unnoticed when she was in the room. For well over forty years she served as the Nursery Sunday School Teacher and many an adult remembers her from those days and love her still! She cherished every moment with her kids, grandkids and great grandkids. Her massive meals made straight from love for her massive number of children, and all that came with them every Sunday afternoon, was so evident! She relished in those moments with her family, and we all remember her roast beef dinners, or for that matter any food she chose to cook, as being mouth watering and delicious! Her patience had to be a world record and her love for everyday life was inspirational! She always declared she had the best kids ever, and although we knew the truth, she wouldn’t hear of any of it otherwise! She declared it so and we let her believe it! If indeed there was good in us it was due to her constant love for us and her wondrous love of God! She had a tremendous faith that showed forth in everything she did and she was an example to all of us in her every action! She has now been reunited with her husband Gerald, her daughters Alexa and Heather and her two little boys whom she miscarried earlier in her marriage. She has had a great bear hug from her dad and sisters Joyce and Grace and so many more! She is rejoicing in Glory for she was taken by the hand of Jesus, and led through the promised land to reunite with those who went before her! We will see her again and we too will rejoice! To God be the Glory, great things He has done.!

She is survived by her children, Daphne Dezeeuw (Joe), Woodstock, NB, Ardi Williams (Brad), Ontario, Gerry Thornton (Carina), Fredericton, NB, Corless Thompson (Bruce), Ontario, Veronica Hoyt (Rev.
