1949-2021
Ritchie L.(Honey) Cole of Harvey, York Co., NB passed away on July 18,
2021 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. He was born on November
16, 1949, a son of the late Carl and Glenna (Henry) Cole.
Honey was a self-employed woodsworker and made his living off the land. He loved hunting, fishing, telling yarns, eating homemade ice cream, KFC and drinking lots of Pepsi. Most of all his greatest love was for his Lord and his family.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra (McFarlane) Cole; his children, Fonda Johnson (Allan) and Melodie McLean (Andrew); grandchildren, Brittany Cuff (Aaron), Jordon Johnson, Isaac Johnson, Haley McLean, Brianna McLean, Rebecca McLean, Caleb McLean and three chosen grandchildren; four great grandchildren, Sadie, Emmie, Willow and Jonas; his siblings, Laurie (Angela), Gordon (Pat), Joanne Cole, Rev. Roger (Kathy), Myrna MacDonald (Charlie), James (Ronda) and Sandra Ferris (Bill); brothers-in-law, Roger Leckey, Edwin McFarlane (Barb), Ronnie McFarlane (Nancy), David McFarlane (Joyce), Peter McFarlane (Cathy) and Robin McFarlane (Wanda); sisters-in-law, Wendy Barry (Blaine) and Jonelle Prescott (Harold); several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister Lorna Leckey; a brother Raymond Cole (late Deborah) and a brother-in-law Steve Wilkin.
Friends and family attended a time of visitation with the family at Hope City, 429 Clements Drive, Fredericton, NB the evening before the funeral service which was held on Friday, July 23, 2021 with Pastor Joseph Beesley, Pastor Justin Beesley and Rev. George Clark officiating. A eulogy was delivered by Tony Cole. Music was provided by the McLean Brothers and soloist Rachel VanRaelte. Interment took place at Magundy Sand Bank Cemetery where Ritchie's brother, Pastor Roger Cole took part.
Honorary pallbearers were Wendell Gillespie, Bob Card, Jim Ward and Everett Griffiths. Active pallbearers were Isaac Johnson, Jordon Johnson, Aaron Cuff, Caleb McLean, Tony Cole and Dana Cole.
