Mabel Mary Josephine Caissie

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Mabel M. J. Caissie of Harvey, York County, NB, wife of the late Edmond C. Caissie, on Sunday, July 25, 2021 at Pine Grove, Fredericton, NB. Mabel was surrounded by her family when she was called home. She was born at Beaverbrook Station, NB in 1934, a daughter of the late Peter and Theresa (Drisdelle) Russell. Mabel was a woman of faith who dearly loved her family. She enjoyed gardening and working outdoors. She learned to play the fiddle at a young age and enjoyed sharing that gift with family and friends.

She is survived by her children, Maurice Caissie (Mary Anna), Lorraine Caissie, Carol Gillet (Ronald), Danny Caissie (Karen) and Terry Caissie (Mary); a daughter-in-law, Terri Caissie; her grandchildren, Matthew, Joshua, Nathan, Mitchell, Bradley, Edmond, Nicholas, Naomi, Juan, Brittany, Vanessa, Joshua, Lucas and Emma; her great grandchildren, Davis, Willow, Raven, Ivy, Luna, Castor, Summer, Ellie, Isabelle, Christian and Jake; her siblings, Walter Russell (Germaine), Roger Russell, Allen Russell (Carolyn) and Jane Gallant and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mabel was predeceased by a son, Raymond Caissie, siblings Dolphus Rouselle (late Therese), Dorca Daigle (late Patrick), Roland Russell (late Mabel), Norman Russell (late Yvonne), a brother-in-law, Basil Gallant, an infant brother Stanley and an infant sister Esther.

Visiting hours were held at Swan Funeral Chapel, 1826 Route 3, Harvey Station, NB on Friday, July 30, 2021. A funeral mass was celebrated at Holy Family Church, Hanwell Road, Fredericton, NB on Saturday, July 31, 2021 at 11 a.m. with Father Monte Peters officiating. A eulogy was delivered by Mitchell Caissie. The first reading was by Vanessa Caissie, the second reading by Naomi Robinson and the Prayers of the Faithful by Josh Ried. Music was provided by Mabel's daughter Carol. Interment took place at Cork Cemetery and a reception followed at the Harvey Lions Club.

Honorary pallbearers were Joshua Caissie, Nicholas Gillet, Brittany Caissie, Vanessa Caissie, Emma Caissie, Norman Daigle, Brent Gallagher and John Jones. Active pallbearers were Matthew Caissie, Nathan Caissie, Bradley Caissie, Edmond Gillet, Juan Pernalete and Lucas Caissie.
