Nicola (Nick) Nozzolillo
1926-2021
It is with great sadness we announce the death of Nick Nozzolillo,
formerly of Hartfield, NB, who passed away peacefully on July 29,
2021, at Thomas Hall Shannex in Fredericton, NB.
Nick was born in Morcone, Italy on November 25, 1926, the son of the late Domenico Nozzollilo and Donatella (Rinaldi) Nozzolillo.
Nick immigrated from Italy in 1954 to Waterbury, Connecticut. Then in 1970, he and his family immigrated to Nackawic, NB where he established himself as a well-known businessman, building and owning the Lakeview Tavern and the Nackawic Motel. Nick’s strong work ethics showed in all that he did. He was known for his many talents as a Mason; especially building stone walls and for his concrete work, which included building the base for Nackawic’s icon, the Big Axe.
Nick was an avid curler; he also loved to hunt and play crib. His favorite passion, besides making his homemade Italian wine and sausages, was his hobby farm.
Most importantly, he loved and cherished his time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his children, Domenic Nozzolillo (Sylvie), Dana Nozzolillo and Bill Nozzolillo; grandchildren, David (Allison), Nicholas (Megan), Anthony (Katie), Jessica (Danny), Mason, Gabriella and Sharon (Jeff); great grandchildren, Isabel, Adelyn, Reid, Sofia, Harper, Oliver and Eliana; a sister-in-law, Antoniette Albini; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his beloved wife, Vittoria (Albini) Nozzolillo; two brothers, Salvatore Nozzolillo and Marco Nozzolillo; two sisters, Maria Ruzzo and Madalena Guerrera; and a brother-in-law, Frank Albini Sr.
Visitation was held at Flewelling Funeral Home, 585 Otis Drive, Nackawic, NB on Tuesday, August 3, 2021 from 11 am to 12:30 pm. Mass of Christian Burial followed at St. Simon and St. Jude Catholic Church, Nackawic, NB at 1 pm with Celebrant Father Martin Arputham. Scripture was read by Anita Fox and the Prayers of the Faithful by Donald Albert. Interment took place at Hartfield Cemetery.
Honorary pallbearers were Kenneth Gallagher, Arwood Kaley, Malcolm Delong, Donald DeGagne and Marven Goodine.
Active pallbearers were David Nozzolillo, Nicholas Nozzolillo, Anthony Nozzolillo, Danny Storey, Jeff Gilmore and Duane Jones.
The family wishes to express their deep appreciation to the caregivers who provided Nick with excellent and compassionate care in the final years of his life; Paradise Villa and Thomas Hall Shannex. Your kindness, support and professionalism will always be remembered.
