From one trucker to another: ‘If you knew Dean at all, you know that he woke up early every morning with a coffee in his hand and an empty stomach, ready for the day. Whether he had a load to pick up or deliver, a motorcycle trip to go on, a motorhome trip to make, wood to cut at the camp with the wheeler or Rusty to walk, he did it with a smile on his face. His wife of 30 years, his family and his friends were a part of his everyday life that we all know he enjoyed and lived for. When Dean could not sleep, he liked to read his Bible. He was a man who walked his talk every day and we loved him for that. He loved to eat, especially desert and ice cream and we all know Shelley was a great cook. He enjoyed motorcycle rides with Shelley and Rusty, the Eagles concerts in Florida, helping people fix things or make things. Anyone that knew him, knew he was spoiled and he deserved it because he was an all-round good husband, father, grandfather and friend to anyone that was lucky enough to have known him. You will be missed my friend, love Larry McKay’.
A private family funeral service was held. Interment will be later at Hillman Ritchie Cemetery.
For those who wish to make a donation in memory of Dean, the family has suggested the Hillman Ritchie Cemetery @ Treasurer, 165 Ritchie Road, Ritchie, NB E6H 1H1.
