Clayton Merrill Sharpe of Temperance Vale, NB passed away unexpectedly at his home on March 26, 2024. Clayton was born at Woodstock, NB in 1950, a son of the late Albert and Florence (Pike) Sharpe.

With deepest sadness we say goodbye to a wonderful husband, dad, papa, brother and friend. The first in line to lend a helping hand, provide chuckles and support, he will be missed by all. As a teacher Clayton spent countless hours working diligently for his students. He also enjoyed carpentry, especially when doing it with his grandchildren. He is remembered for his kindness, loyalty and sense of humor. Above all else, Clayton stood for love of family and embraced a life of spirituality. Clayton and Judy were married for 54 years, having lived through joys and sorrows together. Love grew exponentially over these years and Mum will miss her “rock”.

He is survived by his wife, Judy M. (Hatt) Sharpe; his children, Robin Sharpe, Rhonda Sharpe (Al) and Julie Sharpe (Mark); his grandchildren, to whom he was known as Papa, Rodney Sharpe (Emma), Justin Sharpe (Sam), Amber Miller, Garth Miller (Cassidy), Jeron Sinclair (Emily), Cade Sinclair (Stacy), Trae Sinclair (Jaidan), and Tyler Sharpe; his great grandchildren, Jenna-Lee, Jace, Jaime, Clark, Allison , Jackson and Evelyn; his siblings, Ernest Sharpe (Elaine), Marilyn MacLeod and Stanley Sharpe (Bev); a sister-in-law, Rowena Upham and a brother-in-law, Burt Hatt (Tammi) and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, Clayton was predeceased by a brother Vaughn Sharpe and a brother-in-law, Wendell MacLeod.

A funeral service was held at Flewelling Funeral Home, 585 Otis Drive, Nackawic, NB on March 30, 2024 with Charles O'Regan and Jonathan Freeburn officiating. Music was supplied by pianist Andrew Sharpe and several members of the Sharpe family. Others delivered memories of Clayton. Visitation was held the previous day. A reception followed the funeral service at the funeral home. Interment will be later at Nortondale Cemetery.

Honorary pallbearers were Roy and Ronnie Sharpe. Active pallbearers were Rodney, Justin, Garth and Amber Miller, Jeron, Cade and Trae Sinclair.

For those who wish to make a donation in memory of Clayton the family has suggested the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Nortondale Cemetery.
