Wanda Jean Stuart Lister
Wanda (Hood) Lister of Fredericton, NB passed away at Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on April 12, 2024. She was born in Magaguadavic, NB on September 20, 1934, daughter of the late Arthur and Eva (Schriver) Hood.

Wanda was an amazing woman with a sharp wit, and a kind heart. She had a great sense of fun and adventure, whether it was playing a game of cards or going on a trip across the country. As a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she was the glue that kept the family together. Her friends knew her to be steadfast, having many lifelong friendships.
Wanda had a 50 year career in nursing, touching countless lives. She graduated from the PEI school of nursing in 1973, attending classes by day and working night shift as a registered nursing assistant, while raising her family.
Wanda loved to travel with family trips to Ireland, Alaska and Maui. She traveled with friends across the country, and to Europe. As recent as December 2019 she went on a Caribbean cruise.
In Wanda’s words “I’ve had a wonderful life.”

She is survived by her children, Tim Lister (Jan), Jennifer Lister (Jamie), Martha Coburn and Shannon Lister; nine grandchildren, Deanna (Bradley), Shane (Jana), Nicholas, Samantha, Elizabeth, Aubrey, Sherry-Dawn (Kenny), Barret (Amy) and Brittany (Josh); fifteen great grandchildren Hannah, Holly, Jacob, Layla, Stevie, Kinley, Owen, Jorja, Emmett, Macy, Theo, Connor, Bryce, Ben and Liam; six sisters-in-law Patricia Hood, Sylvia Hood, Ann Lister, Terry Lister, Karen Lindsay (Dean) and Carole Parisotto (Jack); several nieces and nephews.

Wanda was predeceased by her parents, her husband Bryce C. Lister; son Michael Earle Lister; siblings, Robert Hood, Joe Hood, Richard Hood and Ardith Bunn (late David); brothers-in-law Dewitt Lister and Edward Lister; sister-in-law Janice Vennos.

Visiting hours were held at St. Clements Anglican Church, 6831 Route 102, Dumfries, NB on Friday, April 19, 2024 from 1 to 2 pm, followed by the funeral service at 2 pm with Father David Mercer and Father Nicholas Saulnier officiating. A reception will followed at the church. Interment will be at a later date at Harvey Settlement Cemetery.

For those who wish to make a donation in memory of Wanda, the family has suggested Harvey Settlement Cemetery, Anglican Parish of Prince William, Parish of St. Mary’s, York, Covenant House or a charity of the donor’s choice.
