Charles PETER Stairs
1950-2024
C. Peter Stairs of Temperance Vale, NB passed away peacefully at Upper
River Valley Hospital on April 21, 2024. He was born on December 19,
1950, a son of the late Emma MARGUERITE (Schriver) Stairs and Hilton
Stairs.
Peter was a truck driver for over 40 years, receiving Safety Awards from Dominion. Peter enjoyed spending time with his family. He loved hunting, fishing, camping, wheeling and road trips. He enjoyed tormenting while playing cards, and we always loved his jokes. Peter could often be found in his garage, enjoying a cold one. His love for his kitty Pebbles, was like his own child.
He is survived by his wife, Carlene (Porter) Stairs; his children, Curtis Stairs (Heather), Temperance Vale, NB and Denise Stairs (Michelle), Oak Bay, NB; two grandsons Kyle Stairs and Dawson Stairs; two brothers, Eugene Stairs, Moncton, NB and Paul Stairs, Millville, NB; one sister Audrey McDermott, Ontario; three brothers-in-law Carl Stalker, Sam Winia and Gerald Bradley; two sisters-in-law, Barb Stairs and Frances Stairs; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Peter was predeceased by his parents; three brothers, Bert, Dalton and Donnie; six sisters, Juanita, Ella, Alda, Rosalie, Shona and Darlene; three sisters-in-law, Doris, Carol and Hilda; four brothers-in-law Dave, Roy, Lewis and Jack.
A graveside service will be held at Otis Cemetery on May 20, 2024 at 12 noon with Rev. Wayne Schriver officiating followed by a Celebration of Life gathering at the Temperance Vale Community Hall at 2 p.m.
For those who wish to make a donation in memory of Peter, the family has suggested a charity of the donor’s choice.
The family extends heartfelt appreciation to the nurses and doctors of Upper River Valley Hospital for the excellent care Peter received.
