Kathleen Marie (Kay) McGuire
Kay M. McGuire, formerly of Nackawic and Upper Queensbury, NB, widow of the late Marlowe McGuire, passed away December 29, 2013 at Pine Grove Nursing Home. Kay was born at Southampton, NB in 1926, a daughter of the late Alfred and Beulah (Dore) Fox. Kay was a member of St. Simon and St. Jude Catholic Church. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting and attending the Morning Out Sewing Group at the Kirk in Nackawic. Earlier she enjoyed time spent with the Fiddlehead Campers and travelling.

Kay is survived by her children, Lawrence (Larry) McGuire (Sharon), Kelly creek, NB, Patricia Ingraham, Beechwood, NB, Elaine McGuire (Sharon), Halifax, NS, Edward McGuire (Patricia), Upper Queensbury, NB, Kevin McGuire (Cheryl), Nackawic, NB and David McGuire (Frauline), St. John’s, NL; a sister, Audrey McGuire (Donald), Fredericton, NB; a brother, Merlin Fox (Eunice), Nackawic, NB; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. Kay will also be missed by her Nackawic caregivers, Patti Ingraham, Kim Greencorn, Caroline Barton, Geraldine Reid, Hazel Doherty, Terri Ann Derrick, Eddie Coffin, Susan Dickinson and Pat Corey.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a son-in-law, Norman Ingraham, her sisters, Edith Walker, Enid Strong, Muriel Gordon, Joyce Hues, Joan (MacDonald) Hicks and a brother, Medley Fox.

Mass of the Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Simon and St. Jude Catholic Church, Nackawic, NB on Thursday, January 2, 2014 at 11 a.m. with celebrant Father Godwin Kalu and Con-celebrant Rev. Monte Peters. Scripture was read by Kay's sons, Larry and David. Pat Lawson read the Prayer of the Faithful. A eulogy was delivered by Carl Urquhart. Music was provided by the church choir with organist Gloria Yachyshen and special music by Merlin and Shirley Fox. A reception followed in the church fellowship hall. Interment will be later at St. Simon and St. Jude Cemetery.
