Mikaela Edna-Mae Brewer

2010-2017

Mikaela Edna-Mae Brewer
Mikaela Brewer, seven year old daughter of Trevor and Shana (Cronkhite) Brewer of Burtts Corner, NB passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her family, friends and medical team on Friday, April 21, 2017. Mikaela was born on January 30, 2010 at Fredericton, NB.

Our precious Mikaela was and will always be our Warrior Princess. She showed us during her journey and struggles that no matter how much pain she was in or how her body was suffering she always thought and cared for others. She deeply loved her family and no matter where she went for treatments, they always were together, even if in spirit.

She was drawn to people when she felt they needed her and total strangers were drawn to her. She loved the animals both big and small. She loved the bees and worried about the elephants being killed for their tusks.

Although her time on earth was much too brief, we are so blessed to have loved her, been inspired by her and we will carry on her legacy of love and kindness

She is survived by her parents; her siblings, Caitlin, Colbin and Ashtyn Brewer; maternal grandmother, Cheryl Vezina; paternal grandparents, Larry and Marilyn Brewer, several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Mikaela was predeceased by two siblings, infants Jaydan and Isabella; her maternal grandfather, Monte Cronkhite; her namesake and maternal great grandmother, Edna Patterson and by an uncle, Clay Vezina.

Visiting hours were held at the Burtts Corner Baptist Church, 1034 Route 104, Burtts Corner, NB. The funeral service was held on April 27, 2017 with Pastor Stephen Hoyt officiating. During the service Mikaela's mother brought Words of Remembrance and Caitlin, Colbin and Ashtyn read a poem. A eulogy was delivered by Mikaela's aunt Leslie MacNeill and her aunt Michelle Tucker introduced Jeff Zaat, who, together with his music students at Keswick Valley School had composed a song for Mikaela, which he sang. A reception followed at the Burtts Corner Lions Club.

Pallbearers were Mackenzie Sharpe, Emma Tucker, Peter MacNeill, Jordyn MacNeill and Martin Vezina.

For those who wish to make a donation in memory of Mikaela, the family has suggested the SPCA, the Children’s Wish Foundation, the DECH Foundation (Pediatric Unit) or Camp Triumph.
