Arnold R. Brewer of Zealand, NB passed away on Saturday May 27, 2017 at Paradise Villa, Fredericton, NB. Born in Zealand, NB at the beginning of the Great Depression, he was a son of the late Ernest and Eva (Shepard) Brewer. Growing up on his grandfather’s farm, he developed a love of nature and particularly of horses. Arnold worked from age 14 and his natural curiosity led him to fixing all manner of things. He worked most of his life as a mechanic and could diagnose any problem simply by listening to a running vehicle.

A quiet and gentle man, dedicated to his wife, family and church, he was predeceased by his wife Greta (Morehouse), his eldest son Arnold and a son-in-law Robert Rae.

(Richard), Charlotte O’Grady (Gerald), Cathy Daigle (Guy), Daphne Rae and daughter inn-law Janis Brewer; grandchildren: Kari Rae (Anthony Hanson), Elisabeth Rae (Tom Healy) and Andrew Rae (Natalie Smith); Colin and Darrell Brewer; Jessica McAleer (Gary) and Abigail Bragdon (Laurel); Jerry O’Grady (Danielle), Jonathan O’Grady (Jessica); Daphne Williams (Michael) and Bryan Marr; Jamie Monteith; Megan, Jenna and Lucas Brewer (Christina); great grandchildren: Madison, Zachary, and Alexa Brewer; Gavin Brewer; Logan Donovan, Michaela and Liam Monteith; Emma and Eli Williams; Brydon and Brody O’Grady; Sierra, Jonathan and Mya O’Grady; Chelsey and Cody McAleer; Kiersten Bragdon; Marlee, Benjamin, Melia and Hudson Brewer; Alexis Brewer; Kieran, Jack and Sarah Hanson; Olivia and Gemma Healy; Alice and Ryan Rae; a brother, Ernest B Brewer; sisters Darlene Morehouse (Vernon), Maureen Estey (Eugene), Coleen Tranquilla, Chloe Morehouse, Heather Betts (Harold): sisters-in-law Rhea Brewer and Doreen Morehouse and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Arnold was also predeceased by sister Pearl MacQueen and brother Ewart Brewer, sister-in-law, Carolyn (Hanson) Brewer, brothers-in-law, Marcus Tranquilla, Milton Morehouse and Leslie MacQueen.

Visiting hours were held at the Seventh-day Adventist Church, 33 Morehouse Road, Zealand, NB with funeral services held the following day on Wednesday, May 31, 2017. Pastor Victor Chant officiating, assisted by Pastor Adrian Golea. A eulogy was delivered by daughters Daphne Rae and Julie Cheney and granddaughter Jessica McAleer. Music was provided by Julie Cheney who was accompanied by pianist Merlin Moss and grandson Colin Brewer. Interment took place at Zealand Community Cemetery followed by a reception in the church fellowship room.

Pallbearers were grandsons Colin Brewer, Darrell Brewer, Jerry O’Grady, Jonathan O’Grady, Bryan Marr, Andrew Rae and Lucas Brewer.
