Percy George Jones

Percy G. Jones of Temperance Vale, NB passed away on May 8, 2023 at Saint John Regional Hospital. He was born at Fredericton Junction, NB on July 21, 1943, a son of the late George Edward and Theressa Annie (Ward) Jones.

Percy was an electrician, a general contractor, a real estate owner in Fredericton, a farmer and an owner of racehorses and beef cattle. He was the first person to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Percy had a quick wit and keen mind for business. He was well respected in the community due to his kind nature and work ethic.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce (Briggs) Jones; two sons, Scott Jones (Tanya) and Jason Jones; two grandchildren, Katrina and Connor Jones; two sisters, Phyllis Connelly and Mary Tremblay (Jéan); a brother, Philip Jones; a sister-in-law, Gwen Bradbury; a brother-in-law, Weldon Briggs; and loved by his many nieces and nephews.

Percy was predeceased by his parents; two sisters, Helen Forsythe (late Sterling) and Ella Laking (late George); a brother-in-law, Jerry Connelly and a sister-in-law, Marie Jones.

Visiting hours were held at Flewelling Funeral Home, 585 Otis Drive, Nackawic, NB on Saturday, May 13, 2023 from 11 am to 2 pm, followed by the funeral service at 2 pm with Pastor Donnie Wilkinson officiating. Music was provided by Rev. and Mrs. Ed Sealey and Rev. Bob Johnson. A eulogy was delivered by Percy's nephew Brent Briggs. A reception followed in the funeral home dining room. Interment took place at Temperance Vale Cemetery.
