Dennis Martin Lawson

1963-2023

Dennis Martin Lawson
Dennis M. Lawson of Skiff Lake, NB lost his battle with cancer on September 17, 2023 at his home. Dennis was born on August 9, 1963 in Iserlohn, Germany, son of Margaret (Bell) Lawson and the late Philip Lawson.

Dennis was not a city boy. He loved the outdoors and was most comfortable wearing tattered jeans and his favourite plaid shirt. He had a passion for the outdoors … hunting, trapping and fishing … where he could enjoy the peace and solitude of the country. Denis shared one day that he loved golfing because he was surrounded by beautiful forests. He was particularly fond of the challenging Nackawic Golf Course. An ideal setting for him was sitting with family and friends around a blazing fire and talking about the good ole times in life.

Dennis subscribed to the Sports Channel, where he avidly followed his beloved Toronto Maple Leafs and the Toronto Blue Jays. He also loved engaging in sport activities, such as washer-toss, bowling and baseball. In his teenage years, he was quite the hockey player. Here is an interesting piece of trivia about Dennis; he loved to sing, write poetry and had a great sense of humor.

He is survived by his fiancé Wendy Pearson; his son Brett Lawson (Stephanie) and granddaughters Zoey and Alexis of Surrey, BC; his mother Margaret Lawson; a brother Richard (Patti) of Pembrooke, ON; sisters Dorine Dennique (Richard) of Woodstock, NB and Karan Burgher (Dean) of Greenwood, NS; special cousin Darren Bell; nieces Jennifer, Erin, Christina and nephews Joseph and Timothy; several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Dennis was predeceased by his father.

Visiting hours will be held at Flewelling Funeral Home, 585 Otis Drive, Nackawic, NB on Thursday, September 21, 2023 from 12 noon until 2 pm when the funeral will be held with Rev. Dr. Canon Ross Hebb officiating. Interment will follow at Lawson-Ballentine Cemetery in Bull Lake, NB.

For those who wish to make a donation in memory of Dennis, the family has suggested DunRoamin Stray and Rescue.

The family would like to thank the Woodstock Extra Mural nurses, his Fredericton Palliative Care Team and Dr. Debi O’Leary for their care and support.
