Judith Margaret (Corey) Jackson

1947-2023

Judith Margaret (Corey) Jackson
It is with sadness that the family of Judith Margaret Jackson of Woodstock, NB, beloved wife of R. Leslie Jackson, announce that she passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at the Upper River Valley Hospital on December 19, 2023, following a brief but courageous battle with cancer. Born October 7, 1947 in Woodstock, NB, she was the youngest child of the late Ernest and Nellie (Morrison) Corey.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Jackson of Woodstock; her son, John (Lori) Jackson and grandchildren, Joshua and Jillian Jackson, all of Fredericton; her siblings, Vincent (Judy) Corey, Allen (Sandra) Corey, and Janice (Neill) Flemming, also of Fredericton; a sister-in-law Rosslyn (Kent) Hansen of New Denmark, NB; nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by a brother-in-law Gillan Jackson, and nephews, Mark Corey and Ian Hansen.

A graduate of Southampton Regional High School and the University of New Brunswick Faculty of Nursing, she worked with the Victorian Order of Nurses, NB Public Health, UNB School of Nursing and Community Mental Health; however, the job she took the most pride in was being a mother and a grandmother.

Never one to be idle she was a meticulous housekeeper, a gifted quilter and scrapbooker. Her gifts, whether of wall hangings, placemats or other items, became treasured items in the hands of the recipients.

She was a member of St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church, Woodstock and the Woodstock Golf and Curling Club, and a longtime volunteer with Western Valley Special Olympics.

Visiting hours were held at Flewelling Funeral Home, 585 Otis Drive, Nackawic, NB on Friday December 22, 2023 from 11:00 to 1:30 pm, followed by a celebration of life service at 2:00 pm with Rev. Wendy MacWilliams and Rev. Shirley DeMerchant officiating. Music was provided by pianist Dr. Nolan Golding. Internment took place at the Otis Cemetery. A reception followed at the funeral home.

For those who wish, remembrances may be made to St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church (St. Paul’s Pantry Fund) or a charity of the donor’s choice.
