Jonathan Edward Feeney

Jonathan E. Feeney of Smithfield, NB passed away December 28, 2023 in Fredericton, NB. Jonathan was born at Fredericton, NB in 1971, a son of Anne L. (Jeffrey) and the late Richard Feeney.

Jonathan began his life on the family farm helping his father, which would later turn into helping him with the logging business. He was a graduate of Harvey High School and attended Nova Scotia Agricultural College. He enjoyed playing hockey as the goaltender, spending time with his German Shepherd dogs and being outdoors. He will be greatly missed for his infectious laugh, smile and kind heart.

He is survived by his daughter, Kenley Feeney, his mother Anne, his sister Emily Vautour (Ted), a niece Alice Vautour, nephews Pius and Finn Vautour, aunts, Nancy Feeney Barrett (late John) and Ellen Ann Lewis (Fred) and an uncle, Gordon Feeney (Donna) and several cousins.

In addition to his father, Jonathan was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Amos and Blanche Jeffrey and paternal grandparents, Arnold and Alice Feeney, aunts, Donna Marr and infant Mary Elizabeth and an uncle Newton Jeffrey.

Visiting hours were held at Flewelling Funeral Home, 585 Otis Drive, Nackawic, NB on Wednesday, January 3, 2024. The funeral service was held at Holy Family Church, 1500 Hanwell Road, Fredericton, NB on Thursday, January 4, 2024 at 2 p.m. with Fr. Bill Brennan officiating. Con-celebrant was Fr. David Mercer. A eulogy was delivered by Jonathan's daughter Kenley. Scripture was read by Heather Jordan-Keats and Tina Richardson. Music was supplied by Mary Louise Burtt. Interment will be at a later date at St. Patrick’s Cemetery.

Kenley was her Dad's pallbearer.
