Sharilynn Alice Gillespie
February 13, 1968 … April 13, 2026
Wife, Mother, Daughter, and Friend to Many
Shari was the beloved daughter of Sylvia and the late Wetzel Swan, and the cherished daughter-in-law of the late Robert and Sandra Gillespie. She was predeceased by her infant siblings, Wetzel Jr. and Melissa, and by her grandparents, John and Marjorie Bell, and Lewis and Mina Swan.
Shari is survived by her loving husband, Ronnie Gillespie; her children, Joel (Vanessa) and Holly (Brett); and her three cherished grandchildren, Thatcher, Fallon, and Leland. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Dawn Cole (Nelson); brothers-in-law Billy Gillespie (Joelle) and Nicky Gillespie (Audrey); several nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. A proud member of the Hood family, Shari cherished every moment spent with both close and distant relatives. She loved visiting the Hood logging camp and treasured her special property on Magaguadavic Lake.
Shari and Ronnie began their relationship at young age. They married and shared nearly 40 years together, making their deep and enduring partnership look completely natural and effortless. While Ronnie helped run the family business, Shari was the steady heart of the home - she ran the household and family with quiet strength, warmth, and unwavering devotion. She expressed her love for her family often and deeply, greeting each of them with a big hug and kiss every time.
Shari was her family’s biggest supporter both personally, professionally and fan on the sidelines. She loved cheering for Joel and Holly at every basketball, soccer, and volleyball game. That same joyful spirit carried into the next generation as she proudly watched Thatcher and Leland play basketball and lacrosse, and beamed while Fallon danced and played basketball.
The family motto - “work hard, play hard” - was one Shari lived to the fullest. She had a profound love for nature and spent many happy hours exploring with her beloved dogs, Cash and Kasey. Long walks and adventures along the Magaguadavic River, trips to the camp, travelling the world, side by siding and boating brought her great joy. Shari’s strong creative spirit shone through in her photography, scrapbooking, landscape paintings, and the beautiful crafts she made from rocks, sea glass, and driftwood.
A Celebration of Shari’s life was held at Ronnie and Shari’s Home, 33 Gillespie Road, Harvey, NB on Thursday, April 16, 2026 from 6 - 8pm.
The family wishes to thank the incredible staff at Wauklehegan Manor for the compassionate care and support they gave Shari. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wauklehegan Manor (for the Activity Department). E-transfers are accepted by the manor at [email protected] and donations can be made at the home, during the celebration of Shari’s life.
