Laurence Carl Cole
1944-2026
Laurence is survived by his wife, Angela (Hoben) Cole; a son Marty Cole (Karla); grandchildren, Martina Stephens (Matt), Brady Cole (Hayley) and Kristie Fowler (Josh); great grandchildren, Mattea Stephens, Mileigh Stephens, Atticus Cole, Liam Cole, Jaedyn Fowler, Charlie Fowler and Finn Fowler; daughter-in-law, Nancy Kelly; siblings, Gordon Cole (Patricia), Rev. Roger Cole (Kathy), Myrna MacDonald (Charles), Jimmy Cole (Ronda) and Sandra Ferris; brothers-in-law, Roger Leckey and Norman MacDonald; a sister-in-law Sandra LaKing (Larry); several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by his parents; a son Mark Cole; siblings, Lorna Leckey, Raymond Cole (late Debbie), Ritchie Cole and Joanne Cole (late Stephen Wilkin); brother-in-law Bill Ferris; Hoben in-laws, Ethel Dingee (late Alton), Muriel Bugden (late Alton) and Irene MacDonald.
Laurence was a resident of Saint John, NB for several years, moving to Fredericton this past year. He had a long career with T.S. Simms & Co. in Saint John as a computer programmer, retiring in 2004. Laurence enjoyed hunting in his younger years and more recently, watching the deer on his back lawn. He was always a dog owner and a favourite pastime with his dogs was gathering recyclables.
Visiting hours were held at Turning Point Pentecostal Church, 2031 Route 3, Harvey Station, NB on Sunday, May 31, 2026 from 5 to 8 pm. The funeral service was held on Monday, June 1, 2026 at 2 pm with Rev. Roger Cole officiating. A eulogy was delivered by Kristie Fowler. Music was provided by Rev. John and Carol McMullin and Jaedyn Fowler. A reception was provided by the church in the fellowship hall. Interment took place at the Dayton Cemetery, Douglas, NB.
Pallbearers were Matt Stephens, Josh Fowler, Robert Cole, Dwayne MacDonald, Tony Cole and Jesse Cole.
