The passing of Evelyn B. Donnelly of Lake George, NB occurred on Thursday, January 29, 2009 at the York Manor Nursing Home after a lengthy, courageous battle with cancer. Born on December 8, 1927 in Rossville, NB, she was a daughter of the late William and Hazel (Henderson) Ingraham. Evelyn loved to cook and enjoyed entertaining company and serving them meals.

She is survived by her son, Ralph Donnelly (Brenda) of Fredericton; son-in-law, Basil Jeffrey of Cumberland-Bay; granddaughter Miranda Donnelly (Darrell) of Pembroke, ON; great grandson Jacob Johnston; sisters Dorothy Bradley (Alfred), Bessie Bradley (Ivan), both of Maple Ridge, Pearl Bell of Fredericton, Cora Moorcroft (Perley) of Dumfries; brother Carl Ingraham (Brenda) of Fredericton; brothers-in-law Neil Barber of Temperance Vale and Joe Hachey of Magundy; sister-in-law, Wilma Donnelly of Lake George; special friend Malcolm Kelly of Lake George and several nieces and nephews.

Evelyn was predeceased by her husband Louis Donnelly in 1998, her daughter Helen Jeffery, her sister Ethel Barber and her brothers George, Charles and Arthur Ingraham and infant brother Ervine.

Visiting hours will be held at Swan Funeral Home, 1826 Route 3, Harvey Station on Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 415 Route 3, Newmarket on Monday, February 2, 2009 at 11 a.m. by Rev. David Martin. A reception will follow at the Newmarket Recreation Center. Interment will be later at St. Mark’s Cemetery, Lake George.

Pallbearers will be Eldon Donnelly, Garnet Donnelly, James Donnelly, Martin Donnelly, Renald Mallais and Michael Mallais.

For those who wish to make a donation in memory of Evelyn, the family has suggested St. Mark’s Cemetery fund or a charity of the donor’s choice.
