Roy Edward Nason

Roy E. Nason of McAdam, NB passed away July 15, 2012 at Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. Born at McAdam, NB in 1951, he was a son of the late William Nason and Edith (Gardner) Harley. Roy enjoyed working as a guide for bear hunters for Bob Parker. He was employed for several years with McKay’s Garage in McAdam. Roy had a special love for his grandchildren.

Roy is survived by his wife of 39 years, Mary Anne (Brown) Nason; a son, Dale Nason (Monica), McAdam, NB; two daughters, Sherri Robichaud (Jamie), Mazerolle Settlement, NB and Carla Gillespie (Daniel), McAdam, NB; grandchildren, Kayla, Rebecca, Riley, Tyson, Cole, Dax and Jack; his brother, Milford Nason (Linda), McAdam, NB; his mother-in-law, Mary Brown, Fredericton, NB; a sister-in-law, Cathy McGee (Robin), Newmarket, NB; two nephews, Billy Nason (Renee) and Darren Nason (Kristel); three nieces, Caroline Burdon (Dwane), Adele McGee (Shawn) and Erin McGee.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Paul Nason and Robert Nason; a sister, Betty Nason and his step-father, Luke Harley.

Visiting hours were held at Voice of Pentecost Church, 82 Harvey Road, McAdam, NB. Funeral service was held on Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at 2 p.m. from the church with Pastor Stephen Tompkins and Rev. Terry Messer officiating. A eulogy was delivered by Roy's nephew, Darren Nason. Music was provided by soloist Peggy LaKing with Susan Fudge as organist. Interment took place at Rockland Cemetery followed by a reception in the church fellowship room.

Honorary pallbearers were Ken Carmichael, Claude Piercy, John Pierce, Eric Boon, Danny Swan and Robert Blair. Active pallbearers were Terry Sullivan, Dale Hudson, Myles Johnston, Bob Parker, Donnie Blair and Wayne Smith.
